This local power equipment company, which has been deeply rooted in Fuling for more than ten years, will make up for its production shortcomings after the completion of its 50 million yuan and 50-mu transformer and high and low voltage intelligent manufacturing electrical equipment production base project. It will launch a new generation of 35KV and below multi-series transformers , high and low voltage complete sets of equipment and other intelligent power equipment, anchoring the domestic new power system and overseas new energy track, and creating a regional digital power equipment industry benchmark.

Yuhe Electric Power Development has always been rooted in the Fuling industry. Founded in Yubei District in 2011, the company initially only engaged in engineering trade, outsourcing all its transformer manufacturing to Jiangsu Province. The founder is a native of Yihe, Fuling, and previously worked at the Fuling Transformer Factory before starting his own business.

“My father was the founder of Yuhe Electric Power. He witnessed firsthand the loss of a large number of technical backbones after the restructuring of Fuling Transformer Factory, and the local 35KV and below transformer manufacturing industry chain was once disrupted. He always thought about returning to his hometown to make up for the shortcomings of local manufacturing.” Ren Shuairan told reporters that driven by his hometown sentiment and technical accumulation, he finally decided to settle the company in Fuling High-tech Zone.

In 2020, Yuhe Electric Power attracted investment from its hometown to build a factory, recruited technical personnel from the former Fuling Transformer Plant, and filled the talent gap in the local manufacturing of 35KV and below transformers; it also completed its strategic transformation by relying on the superior location and business environment of the industrial park.

In just a few short years since its establishment, the company has experienced rapid growth: it successfully became a large-scale industrial enterprise in 2021, was recognized as a specialized and innovative SME in Chongqing in 2022, and obtained the national high-tech enterprise qualification in 2024. In the early stages of the project's implementation, the Management Committee of Fuling High-tech Zone (Fuling Comprehensive Bonded Zone) handled all kinds of approval procedures on its behalf, and offered multiple preferential policies on rent and taxes, which significantly reduced the company's initial operating costs. After the project officially started production, the Management Committee took the initiative to connect upstream and downstream enterprises in Fuling, opened up local supporting channels, and helped Yuhe Electric Power quickly open up the local market in Fuling. The company's annual output value steadily increased from the initial 70 million yuan to the range of 150 million to 200 million yuan.

Phase II Intelligent Manufacturing Base Launched: Full Self-Production Coverage, Saying Goodbye to Outsourcing

The Phase II project currently under construction is a crucial step for Yuhe Electric Power in addressing its shortcomings in the industrial chain. The project plans for four main buildings, encompassing office and R&D buildings, intelligent manufacturing workshops for high and low voltage switchgear and transformer substations, core transformer production workshops, and precision machining workshops, with a clear division of labor covering the entire range of power equipment manufacturing.

Prior to this, due to the limitations of the existing factory site, Yuhe Electric Power could only produce core transformer components such as coils and iron cores. All other parts, such as casings and iron accessories, relied on external cooperation for processing, making it difficult to control the production cycle and costs independently. After the second phase of the project was put into operation, from precision metal parts and iron core processing to dry-type and oil-immersed transformers, 35 kV large equipment, and high and low voltage switchgear, the entire power equipment can be produced independently in-house in one stop. The product line has been expanded to include high and low voltage switchgear, achieving a double leap in both production capacity and product categories.

From contract manufacturing and semi-independent production to full-chain self-developed and self-produced equipment, Yuhe Electric Power has completed an iterative upgrade of its manufacturing model. The second phase of the project focuses on digital and intelligent production lines, with core products targeting the smart grid market. It leverages IoT and big data technologies to empower intelligent transformers and complete sets of power distribution equipment. Intelligent transformers can sense operating status in real time, automatically diagnose faults, and provide early warnings for maintenance, effectively reducing energy losses. Intelligent high- and low-voltage complete sets of equipment integrate measurement, control, protection, and communication functions, creating unmanned intelligent substations and providing solid hardware support for a green and low-carbon energy network.

“In the past, when we outsourced parts, we were easily dependent on others for delivery cycles and product quality. After the completion of the second phase of the project, we have achieved full-process independent production, which has reduced production costs, significantly improved delivery efficiency, and enabled the digital production line to continuously iterate on the core technologies of intelligent power equipment,” Ren Shuairan explained. He added that the new project will comprehensively upgrade the production system, create an industry benchmark for intelligent transformation, and further solidify the company’s competitiveness in the industry.

Anchored to national strategy: Serving the data industry in the east and the computing industry in the west, and exporting products overseas.

The construction goals of the new base go beyond simply expanding the company's own production capacity; they are also closely aligned with the overall national energy development strategy. Leveraging its self-developed intelligent power equipment, the project will provide a complete set of high-end power solutions for the "East Data West Computing" computing center, contributing to the upgrading of the national smart grid and providing a reliable guarantee for stable power supply to smart cities and the computing industry.

Domestically, it covers the entire country, continuously supplying equipment for the construction of new power systems. Overseas, its business has already taken root in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Ren Shuairan's recent trip to Indonesia is a further step in expanding its overseas new energy power plant and photovoltaic/wind power supporting orders. Relying on continuous technological breakthroughs, the company is committed to becoming a globally trusted power equipment supplier.

"The overseas new energy market has strong demand. This trip to Indonesia has secured orders for several photovoltaic and wind power projects. Only after the second phase of the project goes into production will we have sufficient capacity to take on large-scale overseas orders," said Ren Shuairan. He added that, relying on the Fuling Intelligent Manufacturing Base, the company will continue to focus on the overseas new energy sector and promote Fuling-made intelligent power equipment to the world.

The main construction will be completed by the end of the year, and more than 200 new jobs will be created after it goes into operation.

The second phase of the project is currently in the pile foundation construction stage, with a clear and orderly construction schedule. The main steel structure construction is planned to be carried out intensively from July to September, with all main works striving to be completed within the year, and the goal is to put the project into operation before the Spring Festival next year.
